Marriott, Maverick sign agreement
LAHORE: Marriott International Inc announced an agreement with Maverick International Private Limited (an associate of Maverick Hotels, Inc of USA) to open a 300-room Marriott Hotel in Lahore, a statement said on Wednesday.
Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director of the Middle East and Africa, Marriott International said: “We are delighted to work with Maverick International to open the Lahore Marriott Hotel.”
“We continue to see a demand for our brands in Pakistan and are excited to announce our third property in the country under our flagship brand, Marriott Hotels,” he added.
“The site is an ideal location for our first Marriott Hotel in Lahore, as it offers a convenient location with outstanding accessibility to key commercial, cultural and historical attractions in the city.”
Haroon Khawaja, president and CEO of Maverick International Private Limited, welcomed the Marriott Hotels brand to Lahore. “With a rapidly expanding portfolio of major hotels in the US and Pakistan, Maverick International is excited at the opportunity of bringing a true internationally branded five-star hotel to the second largest city of Pakistan,” Khawaja said.
