Nighat takes lead in archery contest

PESHAWAR: National archer Nighat Khan of Wapda took lead in the National Archery Championship women’s category here at the Peshawar Sports Complex Tuesday.Nighat staged a strong comeback and scored 519 points with five (10-pointer), nine times (8-pointer), four (8-pointer) and 12 times (7-pointer).Sumbal Zubair of Pakistan Army with 500 points was at the second place while international archer Umm-e-Zahra (497) remained at third position.Earlier, Umm-e-Zahra was leading the contest but could not maintain her lead in the last two rounds and slipped to third position.
