KATH treats over 0.7m patients in 2017

MANSEHRA: The King Abdullah Teaching Hospital (KATH) has provided healthcare and treatment services to more than 0.7 million patients during year 2017, said an official on Wednesday.

Dr Mohammad Javed Tanoli, the medical superintendent of the hospital, told reporters that the facility had been providing healthcare services to patients in upper parts of Hazara and obstetric delivery services to approximately 4,000 women during the previous year.

He said those hospitalised were provided with free of cost X-Ray and those taken to the out-patient department with prices, which is half of the market. “We have provided X-ray to more than 3,200 patients during 2017, which is also a record as we didn’t receive even a single penny from patients admitted at hospital and half of the market rate from those taken to OPD,” he said.

Dr Javed said that though certain wards were still functioning at a nursing hostel, they tried to ensure standard healthcare services like other major hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
