DHAKA: Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has expressed regret for using inappropriate language in criticising the Dhaka wicket during in the recently-concluded Bangladesh Premier League(BPL).
Bangladesh Cricket Board issued a warning letter to Comilla Victorians skipper Tamim for criticising the Dhaka wicket in an inappropriate manner after their BPL game against Rangpur Riders.
The letter was served to the opener for terming the wicket of Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium ‘horrible’ after the match on December 2. Tamim attended the hearing in front of the BCB disciplinary committee at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday.
“I could have used better words,” Tamim told reporters at the venue after coming out of the hearing. “They raised their concern over my way of expression and I truly agree with them. Perhaps I could have used another word to describe it but probably could not place it well,” he said.
