‘330 IT labs set up in district schools’

LAHORE: Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmed Syed has said that district administration had been focusing and taking steps to educate the students in the field of Information Technology along with other subjects.

Addressing a meeting here Wednesday, he revealed that 330 IT laboratories were established in high schools of the metropolitan city where latest IT equipment had been installed and a large number of students had been getting benefit. He disclosed that 28 more IT labs were being set up in remaining high schools of the city for which tenders were going to be issued soon. “There are total 358 high schools from which 330 IT labs had already been made while with the accomplishment of 28 more IT labs, the target of 100 percent IT labs in high schools would be achieved”, Sumair Ahmed revealed.

quacks: Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal has directed all Lahore division ACs to take action against quackery and quacks more comprehensively. He said this while chairing a meeting regarding actions against quackery here on Wednesday. The meeting was informed that actions were taken in all TMA zones.

In Lahore 100 quack centres were sealed and 100 challans were issued, in Sheikhupura district 11 FIRs were registered, 103 quack centres were sealed, 133 challans were issued, in district Nankana Sahib one FIR was registered, 46 quack centres were sealed, 45 challans were sealed while in Kasur three FIRs were registered, 28 quack clinics were sealed and 71 challans were issued, he said. He said elimination of quackery would ensure healthy society, adding the administration would take action against quacks. He said comprehensive actions had been taken against quackery from January 1, 2017 to till date, adding 277 quacks clinics had been sealed, 349 challans issued and 15 FIRs registered against quacks, he added.
