Three workers electrocuted

LAHORE: Three labourers were electrocuted while three others were injured in an electric shock in Sundar police limits on Monday.

Police removed the bodies to morgue while the injured were shifted to hospital. The deceased were identified as Qaisar Abbas, a resident of Bhakkar, Mahboob, a resident of Bhakkar, and Shakeel, a resident of Jhang. The injured were identified as Tariq of Bhakkar, Shan and Razzaq of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Police said the labourers were working at an under construction building. During shuttering, the pipes touched live wires. This resulted into an instant death of three workers. They were working under the supervision of contractor Amir. There was no circuit breaker on the high voltage line, which resulted into the tragic incident.

Reportedly, despite several calls from locals, Lesco did not disconnect the electricity supply for 40 minutes after the incident. security: SP Headquarters Atif Nazir directed cops on security duty to stay alert for the safety of life and properties of citizens. He said this during a meeting with the said cops on Monday. Some 300 cops participated in the meeting. The cops were briefed about the threat level in the City.
