A woman on Saturday morning killed her husband and three minor daughters, injured her son and later committed suicide in a house in Sector G-6/1, as sequel to some domestic dispute with her husband.
Her 11-year-old son, Mohammad Rafay, who sustained a bullet in his shoulder, exposed the real story behind the tragedy while recording his statement before the area police.
Mohammad Farooq Khan, hailing from Karrak (KPK), working with a petroleum company as manager, was living in House No.16, Street 51, G-6/1, in front of Lal Masjid, for a long time with his wife Shahida Kausar, 34, and four children including Mohammad Rafay, 11; Rani, 2; Fiza, 5 and Raheela, 7, police sources said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Aabpara Police Station Khalid Awan, when contacted by this scribe to seek his comments, said that the police received information about gun shots fired in a house in Street 51 at about 9.30 a.m. that caused killing of some members of the house. He said that the police when reached there, found five dead bodies scattered at different places in a room while one boy was alive but sustained serious injuries. However, the police shifted him to Polyclinic in unconscious condition with five dead bodies, he maintained.
The SHO said that the police started investigation to solve the mystery of the incident and recorded statements of the people living in the street.
Meanwhile, Rafay after regaining senses, disclosed that his mother gunned the family members down and committed suicide by shooting herself, however, he gradually fell unconscious after sustaining a bullet.
According to his statement, the people engaged in investigation of the case said that after taking breakfast, his father offered family a trip to Lake View Park to enjoy holiday but his mother got angry, whipped out gun from cupboard and straightaway shot two fires aiming at his father who sustained a bullet in his head and the other in his chest, after his father fell down and probably killed on the spot, she turned to his three sisters and gunned them down one by one. She later pointed the pistol to him but he sustained a bullet in his shoulder, he maintained adding, “Though I was in senses after I got a bullet but I staged a drama and fell down to show my mother that I too have died.”
Rafay, continuing his statement with tears in his eyes, said, “My mother, who was crying badly, pointed gun at her forehead and committed suicide.” He repeated, “I heard a sound of fire and saw my mother falling down on the floor with my father and three sisters lying in the pool of blood but I was alive.”
“It was horrible dream like situation but all was real,” Rafay murmured adding after what he fell unconscious.
Rafay told the police that his parent often quarreled on family dispute, adding that last night they squabble again and exchanged harsh words, however his father tried to reconcile in the morning while taking breakfast. He said that a few days earlier, during harsh arguments, his father threatened his mother that he will divorce her.
The police have handed five dead bodies to relatives of the family who took the bodies to their ancestral village leaving Rafay (a 6th class student) along with many questioned behind as how he will spend his life alone but his mother didn’t think before committing so horrible offence of destroying on petty domestic issue who abolished her entire family for no reason.
