ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has complained on Saturday that a few lawmakers used the issue of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) for political scoring.
The federal minister addressed a ceremony in Islamabad and during his speech, he said that a few politicians used the issue over the finality of Prophethood clause pertaining to the Elections Act 2017 for their political gains.
He said that Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) is a unanimous belief of the entire Muslim Ummah. He claimed that the government and the state survived a vicious conspiracy recently that aimed at spreading anarchy misusing the religion. Muslims are killing their ‘brothers’ in Libya owing to chaos while in Iraq the government is dependent on foreign aid to maintain peace.
The interior minister also said that a coup attempt was foiled by the people in Turkey.
While talking about Afghanistan, Ahsan Iqbal said that the neighbouring state had been withstanding civil war for the past 35 years and that armed forces of international powers had their camps there whilst Muslims were fighting one another.
The federal minister said that Muslims in Burma, Kashmir and Palestine are fighting for separate homelands but no foreign power is paying heed to the sensitivity of situation.
He said that enemies do not want the only atomic power amongst Muslim countries, Pakistan to become an economic power. He recalled that Indian government has categorically stated that it would not let China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) succeed. India cannot dispatch troops to Pakistan to harm CPEC, he said, adding that disturbance of peace would cost Pakistan the historic corridor project with China.
