Torture of elderly couple: CM dismisses DSP, SHO, others from service

LAHORE: The elderly couple that was subjected to police torture in Multan met with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who inquired about the details of the incident and ordered dismissal of the area DSP, SHO, sub-inspector and ASI from service. During the meeting, Shahbaz said the persons who responsible for the tragic incident should be ashamed of the cruel treatment meted out to the poor people. The elderly couple – Muhammad Idrees and Naseem Bibi – did not know their rights because of their poverty and that is why they had been ill-treated.
