IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad begins

Rawalpindi :Ivy Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017, the four days, student-led international inter-school/college annual talent competition event began with a French festival theme ‘La Carnival Dé IYLO,’ says a press release.
The event was jointly hosted by six IVY campuses that included Riverview, DHA, University, Westridge, F-8 and Chaklala. The ceremony featured fun carnival stalls, fortune tellers, food vendors, balloons, doves, puppets, merry-go-rounds, joy-rides, masquerades, games, coronation ceremony, lighting of the Olympic beacon and a flag parade.
IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017 signifies the cohesion of vision, leadership and intellect enabling students to recognise their talents and come up with ingenious and innovative ideas to compete with the nation’s best. Over 3,000 students from all over Pakistan as well as from prestigious institutes all over the world participated in the event.
The competitions included IVY MUN, Literature Boulevard, Declamation Contest, Ad-Making, E-Gaming, Battle of the Bands, Fashion Show, Business Idea Contest, Math Olympiad, Master Chef , Street Graffiti, Thematic Art, Talent Hunt/Treasure Hunt/ Amazing Race, Dramatics, Film Making, Spelling Bee, Battle of Fandoms, Science Flair, Brain Teaser, Thematic Costume Contest and Photography contest.
Dr. Khadija Mushtaq, CEO Roots IVY International Schools, inaugurated the four days talent-marathon and welcomed all the guests and delegates along with their respective teachers from educational institutes all over the nation. Speaking on the occasion she said, “Today we are witnessing days and nights of hard work, passion, exuberance, emotions and energy. This is the spirit of IYLO that binds us together with the universal morals of respect, peace, tolerance, harmony and team spirit.”
The chief guests for the opening ceremony included members from the diplomatic community, Ms. Maiza Hameed, Ahmed Butt, Sp. Asst. to Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Khurram Idrees – Brands Pakistan, Maryam & Noman from Al-Shifa Eye Trust, Mr. Umair 401 Bakers, etc. and honorable judges along with members of the media. They were highly impressed by the vibrant talent and aptitude of the young students as they stepped into the enthralling world of budding artists and leaders to witness the many hues of their creative work and awarded shields to the winners.
The campus was lit up with enthusiasm and patriotism depicting the colors of Pakistan. Beautiful cultural and theatrical performances were presented by the students. The biggest names in literature, science, arts, cookery, fashion, movie and music industries were invited to be a part of this mega event.
The performances by the participants stole each show overwhelming the crowd and making them give a thunderous applause leaving the audience spellbound. An exhilarating dinner was especially organised for all the students and delegates who had worked day and night to make the Olympiad a massive hit.
