E-learning conference starts

LAHORE :A two-day 4th e-Learning and Distance Education Conference (ELDEC) with the theme "e-Learning and Distance Education: Envisioning the Future: Rethinking, Reshaping, Redesigning Education " organised by the Virtual University of Pakistan started on Monday.
A large number of national educationist and delegates from Indonesia and Malaysia are participating in the conference. The international conference is being organised in collaboration with University of Education. A total of 30 research papers, five keynote speeches and 25 leactures in five technical session would be included in the conference.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) Executive Director Dr Arshad Ali was the chief guest on the occasion. Rector Virtual University Dr Naveed A. Malik inaugurated the conference. In his inaugural address, he said the conference would help in bringing together academicians and educationists from variety of disciplines and would provide a platform for sharing their experiences of the use of ICT in education.
An international lineup of keynote speakers includes Asia e-University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Dean School of Education and Cognitive Science Prof Dr John Arul Phillips and Indonesia Open University, Indonesia former Rector Prof Dr Tian Belawati. The first day sessions were chaired by Dr Najma Najam, Dr Munawar Sultana Mirza and Dr Mahmood Ahmed Bodla.
