Police kill three ‘robbers’

Police claimed to have killed three robbers in an encounter in the Qazafi Town area late on Friday night.

SHO Shah Lateef Town Amanullah Marwat said the suspects looted Rs15,000 and other valuables from a citizen, Samina Jamshaid, who came out of an ATM booth at the Manzil Pump bus stop.

As soon as the woman called in police on helpline Madadgar 15, a police team launched a hunt to nab the robbers, he said.

Marwat said the police traced the robbers to a place near the Radio Pakistan Ground in the Qazafi Town area. When the police reached the spot to arrest the robbers, a gun battle ensued that culminated in the death of all suspects, he added.

SHO Marwat said three TT pistols with rounds, two snatched motorcycles  and looted cash of the complainant, Samina Jamshaid, were found on them. The suspects were identified as Naeem Abbas Bukhari, Salamat Ali and Muhammad Tahir Madni.
