Illegal organ transplant case record sought

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Friday sought case record from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a bail application filed by a prime suspect in an illegal organ transplant case.
As per FIA, Zafar Javed does not possess an FCPS in Anesthesia and is simply an MBBS. The accused initially had admitted to illegally transplanting kidneys of many patients in Lahore, Gujrat and Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. According to FIA investigations, a racket comprising Fawad Mumtaz Khan, a plastic surgeon, Muhammad Altamash, who has not yet completed FCPS, Zafar Javed who has not yet completed FCPS, Shahzad and Umar Draz both OTA were involved in illegal organ transplant. Zafar disclosed that he had given anesthesia to more than 100 donors and recipients.
