Minor boy among two dead in road crash

A minor boy was among two people killed and one other person sustained injuries in an accident involving a two-wheeler and a truck on Northern Bypass near Hamdard University on Monday.

Surjani Town SHO Ahmed Asim said seven-year-old Abdullah was on the motorcycle with 27-year-old Karman and 29-year-old Raees when their bike collided with a truck.

The officer said Abdullah died on the spot, while Kamran succumbed to his wounds during treatment at a health centre.

The driver had abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene. The police have impounded the truck and a search was underway to apprehend the driver.

Woman electrocuted

A young woman died of electric shock at her house in the city's North Karachi area. Rescue officials identified the victim as 22-year-old Sumera and said she had passed away on the spot after suffering a high-voltage electric shock at her house in Sector 5-C of North Karachi. Her body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
