Shopkeeper shot dead

LAHORE

A man was shot dead by unidentified people in Badamibagh police limits on Wednesday.

Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The victim was identified as Haji Muhammad. Police said the victim was sitting on his shop near Lohay Wali Puli when some unidentified people opened indiscriminate firing at him.

He was injured and rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

CASH PRIZES: CTO and SP Security awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates to the cops who recovered weapons from vehicles during snap checking. The prizes were awarded to T/ASI Kamran, head constable Liaqat, constables Waqas, Basharat, Asif, Javed and driver constable Rizwan Haider.

MAN BURNT: An old man received burns when a fire erupted in a godown in China Scheme. Rescue 1122 Fire Service reached the scene and controlled the fire. The injured man identified as Abdul Ghafoor was shifted to hospital. The fire had erupted in a godown of cotton. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a shop of gas cylinders in Sandha. Firefighters reached the scene and controlled the fire.
