Police emergency service approved

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah approved the proposal for setting up Police Emergency Service 921 on Tuesday.
In a meeting at the CM House, it was decided that Muhafiz Force, Madadgar 15, Madadgar 15 call centres, Central Command & Control Centre, Hassan Square Police Headquarters and Chowkundi Police Headquarters would be handed over to AIG (Security) Maqsood Ahmed for setting up the police emergency service.
Ahmed said the emergency service would serve as a one-window service centre for quick response of police, ambulances and fire engines, electricity and gas complaints and other grievances regarding civic problems.
The AIG said a special force of 7,000 police officials trained in public service would operate the emergency service to ensure quick response. The centre would operate round the clock, he added.
The CM directed the home department and the police chief to complete all the legal formalities and hand over the facilities at the earliest.
