MIRPURKHAS: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) CEO Asad ullah Khan has said that out of four hundred and sixty one feeders, one hundred and sixty three feeders were facing line losses. On such feeders, the loadshedding duration is up to 12 hours, he added.

He was addressing people at the Bhittai Cultural Hall here on Wednesday. The gathering was attended by a large number of electricity consumers and officers.  He told that the total normal loadshedding duration was still four hours in urban and six hour in rural areas. “However, make it clear that Hesco is a commercial organisation and power theft is totally unacceptable to it,” he said.

He further told the audience that Hesco’s jurisdiction was comprised of thirteen districts of Sindh, having more than one million power consumers. “The total power requirement is 950MW, however, Hesco receives only 750MW,” he said, adding that company’s own power production was 200MW. A token counter was installed outside the Bhittai Cultural Hall to listen public grievances.
