Q1). Sir, I have done DAE Mechanical and now I don’t know what to do next. Can I do BSc in Computer Field? (Zahid Sarfraz – Islamabad)

Ans: After your DAE Mechanical it is most likely that you would require doing B-Tech. I don’t think there should be a problem in doing this in computer science or engineering. Which means software development or hardware side of it is covered. There are many new areas that you can look at which include internet security, cyber crime, cloud computing and data science etc.

Q2). I am a student of BA LLB and studying in one of best universities in Karachi. I want to know about preparation for CSS because I want to join Police Services of Pakistan? I will wait for your response. (Sheraz Zulfikar – Karachi)

Ans: Information for Central Superior Services is available on their website as you might be aware CSS is a competitive examination which requires thorough knowledge of a number of subjects, compulsory and optional. The key subjects include English Literature, Current Affairs, International Relations and Basic Sciences without which you will find it difficult to succeed in this exam. The best way is complete your law degree and take necessary tuition from a nearest tuition centre.

Q3). I have recently completed my MBBS and I would like go to the UK for my specialization in surgery? I understand I cannot do so without passing PLAB? Can you please advice? (Fakhra Rashid – Lahore)

Ans: Yes, you are right, MBBS doctors who are planning to do surgery from the UK especially through the Royal College of Surgeons route need to complete IELTS with no less than 7 in each band and at least PLAB 1 from Pakistan, which is rather difficult.

The alternative route could be, to go for a post graduate degree in surgery that involved less restrictions and needs an IELTS no less than 6.5 for entry to such a course.

Q4). I did my BSc with double Math’s and Physics. Please advise me further which field would be better for me and recommend the one which has good scope. (Shabbir Hussain - Gujranwala)

Ans: Your subject combination tells that you are good at mathematics and physics and the ideal career path for you would be software engineering with internet or web security options. Alternatively you would also look at telecommunication and mobile engineering which require good knowledge of mathematics and physics and therefore we expect that you would make a good career in the above.
