IHCBA demands PM resignation
Islamabad: Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) here Friday through a press conference demanded resignation from the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif till the adjudication in panama case.
IHCBA office bearers said that the Prime Minister should step down in the light of judgment rendered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama case. His resignation is important during the investigation of Joint Investigation Team (JIT). After investigation if he proves innocent, he may resume his office as prime minister, IHCBA said.
IHCBA President Arif Chaudhry said that all the state institutions were under the authority of Prime Minister and Prime Minister of Pakistan has direct link with the promotions and demotions of the officers. People of Pakistan trust credibility of the Pakistani intelligence agencies but as long as Prime Minister is in office, it can affect the investigations Arif Chaudhry said.
JIT was formed due to the fact that other state institutions failed to perform their duties. IHCBA president said that if Prime Minister do not resign, there will be an all Pakistan lawyers convention on May 12.
