‘Drink plenty of water to avoid stroke’

Showing a little mercy on Lahorities, mercury came down by almost 2°C here Wednesday while Met office predicted hot and dry weather during the next 24 hours.

Met officials warned the citizens to cover their heads while coming outdoor and drink plenty of water to avoid any worst impacts of the prevailing weather. They said children should be kept indoor and avoid direct exposure to sunlight especially at noon.

Met officials said that a shallow westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts of the country on Thursday (today). They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country.

They maintained that dust-thunderstorm/rain is expected at a few places in Malakand, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

They predicted that very hot weather is expected in plains of Punjab, KP, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Hyderabad, Naseerabad, Makran and Sibbi divisions. Rainfall was also observed at Kalam (06mm), Chillas (02mm) and Astore and Bagrote (01mm).

Wednesday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Sibbi, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Larkana and DG Khan where it was 47°C while in Lahore, it was 43°C, humidity was 11 percent and minimum lowest temperature was 25.5°C.
