The Accountability Court (AC) on Wednesday issued directives to the authorities concerned to indict former Sindh IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali, former assistant inspector general Fida Hussain Shah and others on April 29 in a corruption reference.
Jamali, Shah and the other accused in the corruption reference have been provided copies of the case details.
The former IGP and others are accused of corruption of more than Rs500 million by making out turn promotions, illegal appointments and misuse of power. Jamali and his companions are alleged to have made more than 880 appointments in the provincial police department and minting large amounts of money from the people against fake appointments. The corruption reference maintains that Jamali, Shah, fromer SP Ghulam Nabi and many former police officers including Meer Muhammad Abreejo, Ghulam Raza Solangi, Raja Ishtiaq Ahmed, Abdul Qadir and Ayaz Hussain were the most corrupt elements who caused a great loss to the national exchequer due to their acts.
