GHAZNI CITY: The Taliban’s shadow chief judge for southern Ghazni province has been killed in Quetta during a clash within the group, Afghan news agency Pajhwok claimed on Friday quoting an official.
Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel, police chief for Ghazni, said: “Maulvi Ishaq Jalad was killed in Guchlagh area on the outskirts of Quetta and his body was shifted to the Oshun area of Andar district in Ghazni last night.”
He said Jalad served as the Taliban chief judge in Ghazni and decided many cases that involved Afghan security forces, civilians and abducted passengers. In the past, Jalad worked as the Taliban military commission head in Ghazni and Zabul provinces as well. Taliban have not yet commented about the incident.
