23 recieve civil awards
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana presented Pakistani civil awards to the personalities who showed excellent performance in various fields of life on behalf of the President of Pakistan in an investiture ceremony held at the Governor’s House on Thursday.
Provincial ministers, prominent political leaders, Punjab chief secretary, inspector general of police, Punjab and others distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.In the ceremony, 23 professionals and experts were awarded civil awards. Five notables who received Sitara-e-Imtiaz are: Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Dr Muhammad Aslam Noor, Dr Eice Muhammad, Mustansar Hussain Tarrar and Arif Saeed.
Ten notables who received President’s Pride of Performance Awards are: Dr Muhammad Ashraf Tahir, Abdul Majeed Azhar, Dr Abu Bakar Shahid, Sarmad Sultan, Rashed Mahmood, Javed Iqbal, Ustaad Ashraf Sharif, Muhammad Zahid Masood, Ammer Elahi and Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi. Eight personalities who received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz are: Atif Anayat, Naveed Ishtiaq, Nazir Aamer, Parveen Malik, Muhammad Jalil Aali, Shahbaz Hussain, Liaqat Ali Warraich and Tanveer-ul-Islam Khawaja.
