LAHORE

Rallies and meetings were held to mark the Pakistan Day on Thursday.

Workers of religious parties and organisations vowed to realise the dream of Pakistan as envisioned by its founding fathers by making it a citadel of Islam. The largest rally, ‘Nazriya Pakistan Rally’, was taken out by Tehreek Azadi Jammu Kashmir (TAJK) which started from Azadi Chowk and culminated at Istanbul Chowk where Nazriya Pakistan and Yakjehti Kashmir conference was held. Addressing the participants, leaders of the rally accused the government of weakening Pakistan’s Ideology for the sake of personal friendship and trade with India. They vowed to defend Pakistan’s Ideology and fortify the nation to counter all enemies. They demanded release of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and other leaders detained for supporting Kashmiris’ freedom struggle and Pakistan’s ideology. Central leader of TAJK Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki said Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was struggling to unite the nation on Pakistan’s ideology.
