KP rapidly becoming a trade hub: Khattak

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rapidly becoming a centre of trade, commercial and industrial activities.

This he said while talking to the chairman of JS Group of Industries Ali Jehangir Siddiqui and his team at the Chief Minister’s House.

A handout said that chairman EZDMC Ghulam Dastagir and others were also present at the meeting.

Giving details of the provincial government’s industrialisation policy and the incentives given in this regard, the chief minister said that his government introduced a one-window operation, giving all facilities and solving all problems of the investors and industrialists under at one place.

The delegates appreciated the steps of the provincial government for the fast-track industrialisation and investment friendly steps and expressed their interest for investment in different projects.

The chief minister reminded the delegates that the western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was 500km shorter.  

He added that another alternative route from Gilgit, Shandur, Chitral, Dir linking Chakdarra towards motorway has become part of the CPEC.

Pervez Khattak also spoke about the Chinese investment in different industrial estates of the province. The Chinese, he added, agreed to lay down necessary infrastructure and develop the Rashakai industrial estate which they think was the centre of the region and from where they could take their produce to other countries and regions.
