LAHORE: Punjab University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt on Monday warned some teachers at the Institute of Geology of action for, what he termed, creating disturbance at the institute.
In a press release, the acting VC however also claimed that there was no strike at the Institute of Geology and the official matters were being performed as per routine. It is pertinent to mention here that some teachers at the Institute of Geology expressing strong concern over appointment of new director at the institute, who was previously removed over alleged misconduct and financial irregularities, by the interim VC Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasar, had announced observing boycott of classes.
The acting VC Prof Butt, as the interim VC was out of city, said Prof Dr Shahid Javed Ghazi had been appointed as director of the institute on merit and only a few teachers were trying to create disturbance. He said the act of such teachers was tantamount to interference in official matters and action would be taken against them as per rules and regulations.
