OPF Girls College marks plantation day

A plantation day was marked at the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Girls College, F-8/2 to welcome the spring season with participants pledging to plant more trees to keep environment green.

MNA and member of the National Assembly standing committee on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development Ayesha Syed was the chief guest on the occasion. The other guests were MNA Shakeela Luqman, PARC production officer Atiqul Ahsan Qureshi and PARC director (horticulture) Dr. Hafeezur Rahman.

The ceremony began with the plantation of saplings by the guests in the fore-yard of the college.

On the occasion, a special ‘dua’ was offered by a student of O Levels, Noorul Zain.

The chief guest and other dignitaries were warmly received into the auditorium, where Principal Shahina Masood highlighted the role played by the OPF Girls College in this regard in the last years.

Afterwards, Dr. Hafeezur Rahman and Shakeela Luqman highlighted the role of plants and their importance in life.

After a national song was sung by Emel Minal of O Level, a slide show containing the glimpses of planting activities in OPF through the years was presented.

The chief guest, Ayesha Syed, emphasised the importance of planting trees to save the environment and highly appreciated the role of the OPF Girls College in this regard.
