CM hails German company’s help in clean water project

LAHORE

German Company Fichtner Water and Transportation Chief Executive Officer Ulf Meyer Scharenberg has assured Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that all-out cooperation will be extended to Punjab government regarding Saaf Pani Project. He met the Punjab chief minister here on Wednesday.

Matters relating to promotion of cooperation in Clean Drinking Water Programme were discussed during the meeting.

The Punjab government and the German company agreed upon expansion of cooperation in this programme. The chief minister talked to the chief executive officer of the German company in German language.

He said the project would have to be speedily implemented. He asserted to carry out the programme at economic and concrete basis by taking benefit from the experience and expertise of the German company.

expressway: Shahbaz Sharif has said that a project of elevated expressway from Main Boulevard Gulberg to Motorway has been designed and work will be started immediately on this public welfare project.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting held on Wednesday to review progress on infrastructure projects in the province.

The chief minister said that modern mass transit means caused quick development and generated new opportunities of employment. Punjab government has made infrastructure projects of billions of rupees and provided carpeted roads of thousands kilometre in the rural areas, he added.

He said that completion of the 10.7 KM long expressway would result in smooth flow of traffic and it would facilitate the citizens.

He directed completion of the project within the stipulated time and added that it would be a masterpiece of transparency, high standard and speed like earlier projects of Punjab government.

Provincial Ministers Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Khawaja Salman Rafique and secretaries of the department concerned were also present.
