PESHAWAR: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the University of Swabi and Home Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for research collaboration to promote peace.Prof Dr Noor Jehan, Vice-Chancellor, University of Swabi, and Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Government of KP, signed the document. The faculty and administrative staff of the university and Home Department attended the ceremony. The parties wished to develop cooperation in human resource development and research for the sake of peace building in the area.It was agreed that the MoU between the two institutions would be a beneficial opportunity to increase collaboration in trainings, research and partnerships.
Soldier found dead in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: A soldier was found dead in Ziarat Kaka Sahib here on Thursday, police sources said.Imran Ali Shah reported to the police that his 22-year-old brother Hassan Ali Shah had left home for Gujranwala to join his duty on Tuesday. However, his body was found dumped near their house.He told the police that his family had no enmity with anyone.The police registered the case and started an investigation.Meanwhile, Mehr Taj told the police that he along with his nephews Fawad and Jawad was returning from a local court when their rivals Johar Ali, Nek Manshah and Wazir Badshah opened fire on them, killing his nephew Fawad on the spot.

PESHAWAR: The ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina Dr Nedim Makarevic called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan here on Thursday. The ambassador expressed his condolence on the Army Public School and College terror incident. He said that all states of the world should pay respect to Pakistan as they suffered a lot due to militancy. The governor termed the terror incident genocide and said the parliament, military leadership and all state institutions were united to crush militancy.Meanwhile, the envoy also called on Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. He expressed sympathies and solidarity on APS and College tragedy with the people and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ambassador said that the martyrdom of innocent children of APS had deeply hurt the people and government of his country.
