The Founder and CEO of Quaid e Azam International Hospital Shaukat Bangash MD while speaking to ‘The News’ here on Friday said that this project is named after Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to express our love and tribute to the father of the nation. While talking to this scribe, Dr. Bangash said that these kinds of facilities which are being offered in the hospital are absolutely at par with the international standards. Recently an MoU was signed with the Texas General Hospital. The South Asian countries should promote medical tourism within South Asia because they constitute almost half of the population of the world. More than 3 billion people living in South Asia only; can take the medical industry to a new height. There are still many challenges to retain good doctors and surgeons in Pakistan and only state-of-the-art hospitals with latest equipments and good pay can retain them.
Dr. Shaukat Bangash said that my hospital can cater to any disaster if it happens in the city. The large corridors of the hospital can immediately be turned into a hundred bed hospital in addition to the existing capacity. “We had provided treatments to almost 300 women and children of earthquake victims of 2005. They were treated in tents in the under constructed hospital and later they were settled in their areas,” he said.
Dr. Shaukat Bangash said that they are also providing the facility of nuclear medicine which can tell the working condition of different organs. Another significant thing that the hospital has its own sewerage treatment plant, hospital waste management system and air handling unit rooms for operation theatres. Every room can be converted into ICU depending on the severity of the patient. Pnumetic Tube system is also installed in the hospital to quickly transport the medicine within the wards to minimise the time. The hospital has its own large cafeteria for its patients. There are the measures taken to minimise the post-operative infections. Provision of air ambulance service will also be provided in near future. We have also provided proper lead sheet protection of patient and for our staff to block the radiation in our X Ray rooms and operating rooms. We are also planning to start a good home health service for the patients as well as Nursing College and Medical College. A good Home Health Services is also on the cards to provide training to the family members of the patients to make them useful attendees. A patient cannot recover fully without the family participation so their training is also important to handle such patients.
The CEO of Quaid e Azam International Hospital said that Sialkot is famous for exporting sports good and surgical equipment to the whole world. A state-of-the-art hospital should be established there also so that people who go to Lahore for their treatment could get the treatment there in their own city.
He suggested that the government should provide interest-free loans to the investors who want to establish hospitals in the country and don’t create hurdles for those who want to do something good for the country. I want to open more hospitals in Abbotabad, Faisalabad and Jhelum and in the next two years want to open a Medical College. He also offered to provide free designs for the hospitals if the local chambers of commerce are willing to build the hospital in their cities.
On the 5th Anniversary of QIH, Dr. Shaukat Bangash congratulated and thanked his team and partners.
