Sardar Nasim PML-N’s candidate for mayorship

Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday nominated former MPA and president of Metropolitan City, Sardar Nasim, as PML-N’s candidate for Mayorship of Rawalpindi.

The nomination of Sardar Nasim was made in a meeting of the district councils of Punjab Local Bodies chaired by the prime minister and attended by all heads of the city district governments as well as intending candidates besides chairmen of district councils.

With the nomination of Sardar Nasim as the Rawalpindi Mayor, confusion among people of Rawalpindi ended as another two PML-N leaders, Sheikh Arslan Hafeez and Sajjad Khan were also vying for this top most post of Rawalpindi.

The election for Mayor of Rawalpindi is scheduled to be held on December 22 besides Chairman District Council. Local Bodies Elections in Punjab were also held in December 2015 in which out of 46 union councils the PML-N candidates won 42 seats. Elections on special seats were held in November this year.  

Sardar Nasim won MPA elections in 1996 general elections under the fold of PM-N. During this period, he had been designated as chairman of Rawalpindi Development Authority. He was also made him president of the Rawalpindi Metropolitan city. He had also served as chairman of of Monitoring Cell of Development Schemes, Rawalpindi.
