Governor stresses need for research, exchange of ideas
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Saturday said that research and exchange of innovative ideas among professionals were the pre-requisites for the modern medicines to ensure their useful application and welfare of the people.
Addressing the annual
conference of the Pakistan
Society of Cardiovascular
and Thoracic Surgeons, he said that such conferences would go a long way
in improving the quality of medical care and give birth to ideas that might revolutionise the way a patient could be helped.
The conference was organised by the private sector Rehman Medical Institute (RMI).
Besides others, the RMI founder and noted heart surgeon Prof Dr Muhammad Rehman, Maj Gen (R) Asif Ali Khan, specialists, doctors, nurses and medical students in large number attended the conference, said a handout. Doctors from all over the country participated in the conference.
Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra hoped the exchange of ideas and sharing of experience by professionals from different hospitals and institutions would help understand the prevailing challenges and finding solutions.
Later, the governor gave away shields to the cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons and visited the stalls set up by the pharmaceutical firms and the manufacturers of medical equipment.
