Sit-in on Davis Road continues
LAHORE
The protest of All Punjab Water Management Employees Association entered a second day on Saturday as they are staging their sit-in on Davis Road in front of the Agriculture Department’s office.
The protesters have vowed to continue their protest till the acceptance of their demands.
They have their sleeping mats with them and are spending their whole time under the open sky. They have blocked vehicular traffic at one sides of Davis Road.
Holding placards in their hands, demonstrators demanded of the government to make their job regular. As many as 1,700 employees of Punjab Water Management Wing of provincial Agriculture Department are highly qualified and have been working for the last about 12 years and they deserved to be given permanent jobs, they insisted. They also asked the government to raise their salaries.
