Chicago: With only a week left in the presidential campaign, with most Americans have made up their minds. But sizeable minority of likely voters have still not taken sides in this extraordinary election, while most of the Pakistani-Americans living here for over four decades have not registered themselves.

A survey conducted by this correspondent proved that those Pakistanis who came here in the last 20 years are participatory to the elections and are quiet enthusiastic to elect Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton, as they believed Republican contestant Donald Trump a wrathful person.

Among the many who replied to The News 8 percent of the people who plan to vote are undecided. They are less interested in politics and the news, less partisan, and less likely to hold opinions on issues dominating campaign t

While others have already decided to cast ballots for Hillary ‘Clinton but they are less likely to have watched any of the political conventions.Undecided voters are also less engaged in terms of partisanship, mainly placing themselves in the partisan middle, even when given the chance to say they lean slightly one way or the other ,

There are two sets of people one who came in early 70s who never registered them as voters and they are further divided into categories as the professionals like /doctors and engineers quiet open and have involved into the American system, the other one who came here just to earn money, who are least bothered.

For example many families living here for past four decades did not register themselves only to avoid jury duty which is mandatory, a duty in a court which every citizen has to attend no matter what.In the jury duty, there is one judge and 6 to 8 common citizens who have to give their viewpoint in any case and in the light of their opinion judges gives his decision.

There are some demographic differences between undecided voters and those who have made up their minds, but they are small relative to the differences in political interest and engagement. Women are slightly more likely than man to be undecided, younger voters more likely than older ones. There are also small differences across racial groups Muslims are more likely undecided at this point than Indians, Pakistanis are in between. On the question of whether the United States should bar Muslims entering into the country most of the undecided voters are not sure whether they support of oppose this idea. Some said it is the land of immigration and opportunities and it has accepted all irrespective of any cast breed or religion, though it had suffered a lot in terms of terrorism. They are peaceful and civilized nation, they follow the rules. Those who have any objection should go back to his/her home country.
