Man shot dead in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified gunmen on Thursday shot dead a man, stated to be an employee of the Airports Security Force (ASF), in the Cantonment Board area, police sources said.They said that the gunmen fired at Naseem on the Dayal road, leaving him dead on the spot.They said that the attackers managed to escape after committing the crime. The body of the slain ASF man was shifted to a local hospital and later handed over to the relatives for burial after autopsy.

GHALLANAI: The three-day anti-polio campaign was launched in Mohmand Agency on Thursday. Assistant Political Agent Pir Abdullah Shah inaugurated the vaccination campaign by administering anti-polio drops to children in Ghallanai, the administrative headquarters of Mohmand Agency.

Another child dies of diphtheria

BARA: Death toll from diphtheria reached three within a week in Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency as another three-year-old minor girl died on Thursday, official and local sources said.Margat Khan’s daughter Sahiba died while 10 other children got infected in Kabal Jumaat area near Milward in Akakhel.Diphtheria cases are increasing day by day in the area while the Health Department did not send medical teams to the area yet, local source said.They said a child named Abdul Hakeem, son of Shamir Khan, is in a serious condition.
