LAKKI MARWAT: The district elementary and secondary education department has asked the heads of government middle schools to provide a certificate with regard to transparent utilisation of conditional grant and Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) funds.
The instructions to this effect were issued by deputy district education officer Muhammad Sheraz during a meeting held at Government Middle School Naurang on Saturday.
“The provincial government provided millions of rupees to the parent-teacher councils to ensure availability of basic facilities at government run schools,” said Sheraz.
He said that the schools’ heads with consultation of PTC chairmen and members spent the money on civil works and ensuring availability of facilities at their respective institutions.
He directed the schools’ bosses to submit a certificate with regard to transparent utilisation of funds as per specifications.
“The schools’ heads should also testify that no embezzlement has been made in utilisation of conditional grant and PTC funds,” he maintained.
