Court issues bailable warrants for Aqeel Karim Dhedhi
KARACHI: A local court Tuesday issued bailable warrants for Aqeel Karim Dhedhi (Stock Broker) on a criminal complaint. A case has been registered under section 499 and 500 PPC against Aqeel Karim Dhedhi in a matter of criminal complaint filed by Jahangir Siddiqui & Co Limited for maligning and defaming good standing of the company and misleading the public to form a negative image of the company, its sponsors and other companies associated with the company for his (Dhedhi) personal interests by using the forum of private television channel programme (Q&A with P J Mir program aired on Din News) on January 11, 2016.
In this regard, on September 24, 2016, the additional sessions court judge, Karachi South, ordered for bailable warrants in the sum of Rs100,000 against the accused and fixed the case for his attendance before the court on October 19, 2016.
According to the complaint, the accused, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi was evidently against Jahangir Siddiqui & Co Limited, JS Group, its sponsors and companies and organisations associated with the complainant and was creating an impression that it was involved in fraud and in result thereof credibility and reputation of the highly ethical and law abiding entity was damaged and its ability to carry on its work was impaired.
