Fruit not sold in makeshift markets for high rates

Majority of fruits were not sold in the weekly makeshift markets of the city with increasing trend in the prices as the fruit vendors did not set up stalls there due to escalating rates.
In all makeshift markets, almost half stalls of fruits vendors were not established this week while the prices of almost all fruits increased. Due to which only few fruits were available while majority which prices were issued by the market committee with duly sign of the district government representative was not sold there. The vendors said wrong rates were issued in price lists so they decided not to do sell them this week. They claimed that their buying rates were even higher than the prices issued in the lists.
On the other hand, overcharging on vegetable continued. The supplies increased but sale not gained, said a vendor, adding that people still have sacrificial animals meat so the sale of vegetables is stagnant.
The price of potato soft skin was increased by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs38 to 42 per kg, sugar-free increased by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs27 to 30 per kg, and stored at Rs16 to 19 per kg, while stored sold at Rs42 per kg. Onion price was reduced by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs19 to 22 per kg. The price of tomato was also declined by Rs11 per kg, fixed at Rs36 to 40 per kg. Garlic local was stable at Rs230 to 240 per kg, garlic China reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs250 to 265 per kg, both sold at Rs300 per kg. Ginger Chinese was reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs90 to 95 per kg and sold at Rs100 per kg.
The price of brinjal was declined by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs18 to 20 per kg. Cucumber was fixed at Rs55 to 60 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg. Bitter gourd reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs55 to 60 per kg and sold at Rs80 per kg. Spinach price was stable at Rs20 to 25 per kg, sold at Rs30 per kg. Lemon local A-grade was fixed Rs170 to 180 per kg, lemon local B-grade was fixed at Rs130 to 140 per kg, lemon Chinese was fixed at Rs135 to 146 per kg, Chinese B-grade was sold at Rs200 per kg, while local lemon was not available.
Zucchini local was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs55 to 60 per kg, not sold there. The price of pumpkin was declined by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs18 to 20 per kg. Luffa price was also reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs25 to 30 per kg, lower quality sold at Rs30 per kg. Ladyfinger was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs45 to 50 per kg. Arum was stable at Rs40 to 45 per kg, not sold there. Green chilli local price reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs60 to 65 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg. Capsicum was increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs90 to 100 per kg. Coriander was stable Rs140 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs35 to 85 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg.
The price of banana A-quality was stable at Rs50 to 55 per dozen, B-quality at Rs35 to 40 per dozen, sold at Rs55 per dozen while A-quality was not sold there and outside sold at Rs80 per dozen. Guava price was fixed at Rs50 per kg, not sold there, outside sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg. Peach A-category was fixed at Rs155 to 165 per kg, B-category at Rs95 to 100 per kg, not available in makeshift markets.
The price of different variety of mangoes was fixed at Rs40 to 100 per kg, but missing there. Grapes sundarkhani was fixed at Rs140 to 175 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, grapes black was at Rs150 to 160 per kg, not sold there, grapes Tofi was fixed at Rs120 to 130 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg. Peer was fixed at Rs65 to 70 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.
Sweet potato was fixed at Rs30 per kg, sold at Rs50 per kg. Pomegranate local was fixed at Rs125 to 135 per kg, Kandahari at Rs115 to 125 per kg.
