Rana Sanaullah for foolproof security in Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah chaired a meeting to review law and order situation in the province.Punjab Chief Secretary Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed, Home Secretary Maj (Retd) Azam Suleman, IGP, Punjab, Mushtaq Sukhera and others attended the meetingRana Sanaullah directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure foolproof security to important personalities, sensitive buildings and institutions of the province.The meeting reviewed the law and order situation of the province in the light of intelligence agencies’ reports. The IGP and the Home Secretary briefed the meeting on the measures taken by the provincial government to maintain law and order situation.
113 profiteers arrested in Lahore

LAHORE: Teams of City District Government Lahore (CDGL) arrested 113 profiteers on Friday.Officials said raids were conducted on 984 places. Fine was imposed on 12 shopkeepers. They said 113 shopkeepers were arrested for overcharging, and 28 of them were sent to jail.The DCO directed the field teams to continue indiscriminate action against profiteers across the city.
Killer of PPP leader arrested

PARACHINAR: The political administration on Friday arrested the alleged prime accused in the murder case of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) local leader Hamid Hussain Turi and recovered the weapon used in the murder in Kurram Agency, an official said. Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali told reporters that unidentified armed men had killed PPP Kurram Agency president Hamid Hussain Turi in Parachinar two months back.He said the political administration had then arrested several suspected persons in connection with the murder. He said that after thorough investigation it was revealed that the accused Hadi Hussain had killed Hamid Hussain Turi. He said that the accused has confessed to the murder and the political administration also recovered the pistol used in the crime.
Rescue 1122 conference held in Lahore

LAHORE: A ‘Strategic Communication Conference’ was held at Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, headquarters on Friday.The media coordinators from all districts of Punjab participated in the conference.The Rescue 1122 DG, addressing the participants, said that the media coordinators were trained to take pictures of emergencies to monitor the working of the staff. He said that visual monitoring was essential for strategic communication. He also informed the participants about the new initiatives of Rescue 1122 in the field of strategic communication and welfare of the staff.He said that all available measures to be taken to improve the centralised communication system of the service and establish a purpose-based strategic communication and research cell of the service.
