Accuses Centre of stealing 600 megawatt electricity

BATTAGRAM: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday announced establishment of a university campus and a degree college in Battagram district.

Speaking at a public rally here, Pervez Khattak announced the campus and college and added that more doctors would be appointed at the District Headquarters Hospital to ensure better health services in the district. He also laid the foundation stone of a Degree College in Allai and announced to build a bridge.

He said that development was linked with an effective governance system, adding that the corrupt leaders could not ensure an effective governance system in the country. “If Pakistanis want and prosperous and developed country, they must forced their rulers to introduce transparent and merit-based system,” he added.

He regretted that all countrymen were responsible for the failure of the system in Pakistan. However, he added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government had taken the initiative to introduce reforms in the system. “During the last three years drastic steps have been taken to purge institutions of corruption and improve their functioning,” he claimed.

He claimed that his government had stopped political interference in institutions, adding that police, revenue and education sectors had considerably improved. He regretted that timber mafia had deprived the mountainous district of its forest. Pervez Khattak said that 4.5 million trees would be planted in the district during the ‘Billion Tree Tsunami’ campaign.

He alleged that federal government was stealing 600 megawatt electricity of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He vowed to launch a protest campaign against the federal government after Eidul Azha.
