Balloting for agriculture equipment

Agriculture Department organised balloting ceremonies to provide modern agriculture equipment and promote agricultural mechanisation in province's 2,486 rural union councils with subsidy of Rs1.65 billion under Kissan Khushhal programme.

According to the spokesman for Agriculture Department, events at the level of Assistant Commissioners Council, DSPs concerned, deputy district agriculture extension officers and officers of water management, took place in the presence of local electronic, print media and public representatives.

The lists have been displayed immediately after balloting.

The successful farmers and representatives of firms have been made responsible to provide agriculture services like disc harrow, seed drill, sugarcane cutters and crop seed drill for next five years in the field. Mechanisation is required to promote the cultivation and increase productivity through better use of trained manpower.
