Birds seized during raids in Lakki, Bannu

LAKKI MARWAT: The Wildlife Department team seized birds during raids on hunting places in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on Wednesday.
Divisional Forests Officer, wildlife Bannu, Khan Malook had formed a special raiding party after receiving information that hunters are engaged in hunting birds, an official said, adding, “During August and September the hunters use to catch starlings and other precious birds through nets in both districts so to sell them on high prices in local markets.”
The wildlife team raided several places where the hunters had spread nets to catch starlings and other birds. The team also seized over one 100 birds, he said, adding, nets and hunting equipment were also recovered from hunters.
