Doctors protest colleague’s killing in Abbottabad
ABBOTTABAD: Doctors on Thursday protested the killing of a colleague, who was found dead in a room at a hostel of the Ayub Teaching Hospital.
Dr Daud, a trainee medical officer at the paediatric ward of Ayub Teaching Hospital, was found dead in his hostel’s room rented in Musharraf Medical Complex, a private hospital-cum-hostel.
Belonging to Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Daud remained absent from duty for the last two days. During investigation, he was found dead inside his room. Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) provincial president Dr Amir Taj Khan demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.
Talking to The News, Dr Amir Taj Khan said that doctors in entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been facing insecurity and the government is least bothered to cope with the situation.
The PDA president expressed concern over the poor security measures in Ayub Teaching Hospital for the doctors and asked the government to probe the matter. He warned the government to take serious action, otherwise, the doctors would take to the streets.
