Four hotels and wedding halls sealed

The District Food Controller Rawalpindi has sealed four hotels and wedding halls due to presence of dengue larvae and poor arrangements for cleanliness in their premises.

A 3-member committee headed by District Food Controller Ejaz Ahmad Sayyal raided a local hotel on Shah Allah Ditta Road and found that no proper arrangements were made to ensure cleanliness. The dengue larvae were also found on various spots of this hotel due to which it was sealed and case registered against the owner.

The team also visited Commercial Market and carried out on-the-spot checking of two hotels after which both of them were sealed due to unhygienic conditions and presence of the dengue larvae in their premises.

The dengue larvae were also found in a hotel on Swan Adda Road during the raid of the committee. The cleanliness arrangements were found satisfactory in other hotels in the area.

The committee members comprising Food Inspector Qazi Zubair and Assistant Food Controller Chaudhry Khurram are quite active nowadays and regularly paying visits to keep vigil over the cleanliness arrangements in the hotels and wedding halls.

According to the official record, Rawal Town has also been divided into four different sectors in connection with anti-dengue campaign and all the town officers have been given target to check and ensure cleanliness arrangements in 237 major go-downs, 14 ancient dilapidated buildings, 61 graveyards 73 service stations, 324 workshops, 53 marriage halls and 61 under construction buildings of the city.
