National Highway's condition deplored
KARACHI: Landhi Association of Trade and Industry (LATI) President Zain Bashir has urged the government, civil, police, and Rangers to pay attention to the poor condition of the National Highway, a statement said on Friday.
“The National Highway from Malir Halt to Port Qasim is in very poor condition, resulting in losses to industries, frequent traffic congestions and law and order issues," said Zain.
He added that there are approximately 500 companies altogether in Bin Qasim and Landhi, contributing 25 percent to the national revenue.
This delay in rehabilitation work is causing daily traffic jams to negatively impact productivity.
"Damaged sewerage lines are further deteriorating the already pathetic condition of roads, while slow construction work is a pain in the neck for industrialists and commuters," said Zain.
