Nust, Wapda join hands for training, research

Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) signed a memorandum of understanding to hold bilateral training and research for addressing water issues and quality challenges through improved governance and efficient management of water resources. Nust Rector Engineer Muhammad Asghar and Wapda Chairman Zafar Mahmood signed the MoU. The memorandum focuses on areas, including planning and implementation of joint applied research projects and activities, creation of public awareness of water management issues, capacity building, sharing of information, and exchange and training of scientific and technical personnel. Also, the Nust students will get internships in the Wapda projects under the MoU.
Woman killed by brother-in-law in Lahore

LAHORE: A woman was gunned down allegedly by her husband’s younger brother over a domestic dispute in the Kahna police jurisdiction on Thursday. Police arrested the accused Aslam and registered an FIR against him. Police said Najma, 50, was a housewife and her husband was a proclaimed offender in a murder case. Her children had been fighting with their cousins which led Aslam to kill his sister-in-law. Police shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy.
Five of a family killed in road accident
ISLAMABAD: Five members of a family lost their lives when a van fell into a canal near Ghazi Barotha. According to the Police family members were returning home after visiting relatives in Bail Garhan village in Ghazi when the incident occurred.
