The fifth Quiz on Korea Competition was held in Johar Block Hall of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Thursday, says a press release.
Over 45 candidates participated in the event from all over the country. The event was held to enhance awareness and knowledge about Korea in Pakistan. Syeda Farheen Mateen from Lahore won the competition and she will represent Pakistan in the grand finale scheduled in Korea next month. All expenditures of the visit will be borne by the Korean government.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Ambassador Republic of Korea Dr. Suh Dong-Gu highlighted the benefits of knowing Korean language and culture with scholarship and employment opportunities. In the congratulatory address, NUML Registrar Brigadier Amin Ullah Khan highlighted the importance of Korean language and culture in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, NUML Rector Major General Zia Uddin Najam, NUML DG Brigadier Riaz Ahmed Gondal, NUML Registrar Brigadier Amin Ullah Khan, Head of Korean Department and Director of Islamabad King Sejong Institute Dr. Atif Faraz greeted the visiting Excellency Dr. Suh and discussed the bilateral cooperation between Korean embassy and NUML.
