BANNU: Around 196 internally displaced families were sent home in North Waziristan on the second day of the return process on Thursday, the political administration said.The political administration official said that 196 families comprising 211 males, 297 females and 322 children had been sent home in North Waziristan in a convoy escorted by security forces. The administration said that Rs10,000 transportation allowance and Rs25,000 support allowance per family had been provided to the returning families.

NOWSHERA: The Anti-Corruption Department Thursday arrested the secretary Union Council Gandheri on charges of corruption and recovered bribe money from him, officials said.They said that taking action on the complaint of a person, the Civil Judicial Magistrate Asghar Ali and officials of the Anti-Corruption Department raided the office of the Union Council Gandheri and arrested its secretary Amjad Ali red handedly while taking bribes from a person. They said that Amjad Ali was involved in demanding bribes for issuance of birth, dead, nikah registration and divorce certificates from people. The officials arrested Amjad Ali and recovered the marked currency notes from him.
