From urban centres to small towns, the menace of narcotics is silently taking hold of our younger generation. The easy availability of drugs, lack of awareness and weak enforcement of anti-narcotic laws are exacerbating the situation. Even more troubling is the growing trend of drug use in universities and colleges.
The government must strengthen drug control laws and launch awareness campaigns. Parents, teachers and community leaders must also guide our youth toward healthy lives.
