QUETTA: The Acting Consul General of Iran, Ali Reza Rajai, along with Iran Air Chief Agha Karimi and Deputy Chief Agha Ismail, announced the launch of a weekly Iran Air flight from Quetta to Zahedan and Mashhad to facilitate trade and travel between Pakistan and Iran.

Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce, the officials stressed the need for stronger ties between the two neighboring Islamic countries and urged the removal of bureaucratic hurdles impeding bilateral cooperation. Rajai said the new air service would include cargo facilities and help reduce costs and travel time for traders.

He emphasized the need for visa facilitation, affordable fares, and permission to visit border areas like Gwadar and Chaman to enhance port-to-port cooperation between Gwadar and Chabahar.

Environmental Advisor Naseem Rehman Mullah Khel and Chamber officials hailed the move as a milestone for regional trade.

Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai, Patron-in-Chief of the Joint Chamber, presented honourary shields to the Iranian delegation and praised their support for regional business connectivity.
